His main specialisation is the historical geography of Bayt al-Maqdis/Islamicjerusalem and the geographical interpretations of the Qur’an. He has taught at a number of Turkish and British universities and was appointed as the director of the Centre of Islamicjerusalem Studies in the UK (2007-2011). Currently, he is working at the Department of Islamic History at the Social Sciences University of Ankara (ASBU).
