An interactive discussion under the theme The West and Femininity was held at the ILKE Foundation on October 11, 2022, at 6:00 PM. A brief talk was delivered by world-known journalist and activist Lauren Booth in an event that attended by several senior activists and delegates including guest of honour Dr. Samia Raheel Qazi, Pakistan's ex-parliamentarian and President of the International Muslim Women Union. The speaker and discussants reflected upon the real meaning of femininity and how it differs in Western and Islamic perspectoves. This aim of this program was to understand the topic which has long been dominated with rigid definitions from both sides on Western and Islamic perspectives on femininity in a wholesome manner and clarify Islamic standpoint on it through both a historical perspective and the lives of Muslim women today.
