The recipients of Islamic Economics Awards 2022 were announced in a ceremony that was held in Istanbul at the evening of Friday, October 14, 2022. The awards were presented in the inaugural session of the 10th Islamic Economics Workshop at Istanbul University on Friday.The Islamic Economics Awards were announced and presented in four categories.

Islamic Economics Contribution Award

Prof. Dr. Khursid Ahmad, the world known economist who has written many books and articles in the field of Islamic economics, and has spoken at hundreds of conferences, was awarded the "Islamic Economics Contribution Award for his lifelong services to the discipline. Prof. Khurshid could not travel due to ill health therefore his award was received by Istanbul based Pakistani academician Ahsan Shafiq.

Islamic Economics Application Award

Islamic Economics Application Award was awarded to the Participation Youth Development Program, which has been prepared jointly by the Presidential Financial Office and IFCap Building. This award was presented by the General Manager of Ziraat Bank, Metin Özdemir, to the Chairman of the Presidency’s Finance Office, Prof. Dr. Göksel Aşan.

Islamic Economics Research Award

The “Islamic Economics Research Award” was awarded to Dr. Zeynep Hafsa Orhan for her recently authored book “Basic Topics of Economics and Islamic Economics.”

Islamic Economics Thesis Award

With his doctoral thesis entitled "Karz-ı Hasen and Poverty Alleviation: A Proposal for a Microfinance Model Based on Tekarüz and Karz-ı Hasen," Dr. Mustafa Sancar was awarded the "Thesis Award in Islamic Economics."
