From Text to Context: Seminar Organised at ILKE

In the seminar organized by ILKE Foundation and Canada-based Basirah Education, the topic of "From Text to Context" was discussed. The seminar was held on Saturday, June 3rd at the ILKE Foundation. In the seminar, experts in their fields discussed the topic under the title of "Islam, Context and Society". Dr. Hamza Karamali, a Canadian academic and theologian, Danish Qasim, a US academic and scholar of classical Islam, and Ahmad Deeb, an educator and President of the Itqaan Institute in the USA, delivered their speeches. The speakers discussed topics such as the relationship between Modern Science and Traditional Kalam, the role of Islamic Ijtihad in dealing with Modern Problems, and the role and place of worship in modern society. In sum, the seminar titled "From Text to Context" provided an important discussion on understanding the relationship between Islam and contemporary issues. The seminar was well attended.
