Elyesa Koytak
Elyesa Koytak was born in 1989 in Istanbul. He graduated from Galatasaray High School and the Department of Sociology at Galatasaray University. He wrote his master’s thesis in the Department of Sociology at Boğaziçi University. In June 2022, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled “The Transformation of Professions: Physicians and Lawyers” at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Department of Sociology. His dissertation was later published as a book and received the TÜBA Scientific Authored Work Award in 2023.
His sociological research focuses on professions, social stratification and mobility, and the sociology of medicine, law, and literature. He is a member of the International Sociological Association and currently works as a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Istanbul Medeniyet University. In 2023, he served as the director of TODAM (Center for Social Thought and Research) at ILKE Foundation.
