The Platform Issue 30
Years ago, the honorable leader of South Africa, Mandela, stated, "We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians." Today, as the world stands with Palestine, we find ourselves truly grasping the meaning of these words. Since October 7, we have been witnessing both the biggest genocide in history and the most honorable resistance. As we are responsible for the virtue and sensitivity to stand by the oppressed and against the oppressor while passing through these historical days, we have prepared this special issue of Platform titled "Palestine" as a testament to our unwavering support for the Palestinian people, even though we know it may never be enough.
In this issue, experts have addressed Palestine from different perspectives, from architecture to cinema, from boycott campaigns to international politics. The oppression and crimes committed by the settler colonialist Israel against the Palestinians extend beyond physical occupation; they contain forms of "silent" violence and genocide ranging from cultural policies to development, food insecurity to dispossession. However, despite the so-called state of Israel's oppression backed by world powers, Palestinians, isolated from the international community, have been resisting in the most honorable manner for years.
Despite all the organized malevolence of the occupying Israel, which demolishes homes, divides lands, and uproots olive trees, Palestinians will never give up on Palestine and embracing their identity as Palestinians. Furthermore, the entire "humanity" looks at the world from the perspective of Palestine now.
