He was born in 1971 in Kemah, Erzincan. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Istanbul and earned an associate degree in Public Relations from Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty. He continues his career in business as the Executive Board Chairman of his family-owned company, which operates in the field of clothing accessories.

A man of principle in both his professional and social life, Alkan has been actively involved in numerous non-governmental organizations and continues to serve in leadership roles. He is a founding president of İGİAD (Turkey Association for Economic Enterprise and Business Ethics), a member of the Board of Trustees at the ILKE Foundation, a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Assembly (ITO), and has formerly served as the president of the Kemah Tan Village Foundation and Association. He is also a member of various organizations including Mazlumder and YEKDER.

Alkan is married and the father of five children.
