He was born in Sinop in 1969 and has been living in Istanbul since 1979. He completed his undergraduate education in Theology and his master’s degree in Sociology.

He has held various leadership roles in political parties, including provincial chairmanship and vice presidency, as well as executive positions in several non-governmental organizations.

He was part of the founding teams of numerous publications and platforms such as Nida, Mavikuş, Şehrengiz, Bengisu.Net, Yeni Dünya, SPD Social Policies, İSMEK Handicrafts, Minika Go, and Minika Çocuk.

His articles have been published in daily newspapers and magazines. His poetry has appeared in literary journals including Şehrengiz, Ay Vakti, Tütün, Kurşunlu, and Aydos.

He is the author of several books, including İnsan Mevsimi, Oruç Mevsimi, Günbegün, Oyun Sözü, Saklambosi, N’apsak Bu Gençleri, Oyun Kimin, and Haydi Oyuna. His book Oyun Kimin was awarded the 2023 Idea Award by the Turkish Writers’ Union.

Between 1999 and 2002, he served as an Advisor to the Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality. From 2003 to 2005, he was the General Coordinator of İSMEK. Between 2013 and 2023, he worked as a Research Consultant at ARGETUS. He also took part in the preparatory committees of the 3rd Cultural Council and the Istanbul Cultural Workshop.

He currently serves on various boards and committees of institutions such as Istanbul Thought Foundation, Union of Academics and Writers of Islamic Countries, İbnülemin Foundation, ILKE Foundation, and the Biography Institute. Since August 2023, he has been serving as an Advisor to the Minister of National Education.
