He received his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Theology at Marmara University. He completed his master’s degree in the sociology of religion and his PhD in religious education at the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university. He served for about ten years as a teacher and administrator within the Ministry of National Education.

In academia, he held faculty positions at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, and Marmara University. He spent one year as a visiting researcher at McGill University in Canada. His research focuses on teacher education, moral and character education, and religious and values education in early childhood.

He has published two books: "Religious Education and the Possibility of Becoming an Individual" and "Moral and Values Education in Early Childhood." He is currently serving as a faculty member in the Department of Religious Education at the Faculty of Theology, Marmara University.
