New Report from ILKE Foundation Shedding Light on the Turkish Economy: "Economics Monitoring Report 2024" Published

Category: TODAM History: 04 February 2026

The "Economics Monitoring Report 2024: Outlook of the Turkish Economy," prepared by the ILKE Foundation Research Center for Islamic Economics (IKAM), has been shared with the public. The report features comprehensive analyses and current evaluations prepared under the editorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Tekdoğan.

The report emphasizes that global economic and political risks continued in 2024, stating that the Russia-Ukraine War, Israel's attacks on Gaza, and political fluctuations in the European Union, combined with the US election process, have led countries to act cautiously. It was noted that while Türkiye exhibited a positive growth performance in the post-COVID-19 period, diverging from global trends, tight monetary and fiscal policies focused on combating inflation have limited this growth.

Finally, Dr. Bekir Eren shared his analyses regarding the domestic financial markets in 2024. Focusing on the banking sector, Borsa Istanbul, exchange rates, and market interest rates, Eren stated that the monetary policy's focus on fighting inflation has strengthened stability in domestic markets.
