First ever Report on Turkey's Cultural Policy: Speaker Grand Assembly Graces the Occasion

ILKE Foundation for Science Culture and Education has accomplished another goal with completion of its report on the Cultural Policies in the Turkey of the Future, the seventh title in the Turkey of the Future project, that was initiated in year 2018. The report was presented to the public on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 17:00 hrs, at the Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center with special participation of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Hon’ Mustafa Şentop.
The report on the Cultural Policies in the Turkey of the Future has come out as a result of 18 months of meticulous work by a team of 23 members and is the first ever comprehensive report that details and evaluates the cultural policies of the country specially in context of the Future Turkey.
Authored by Lütfi Sunar, Osman Ülker and Firdevs Bulut, the report presents a general perspective on Turkey's cultural policies, and presents the important developments and breaking points in culture from the republican era to the present day. The report comprises of four parts. The first part of the report focuses on the debates on culture in Turkey and how these discussions affect cultural policies, the second part focuses on the actors in the field of culture, the third part focuses on the culture industry and how cultural producers in each sector are affected by cultural policies, and the last part focuses on cultural education and diplomacy.
The report, which was presented before the public at the Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 17:00, with the participation of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, presents a future vision and rational and realizable principles in the context of Cultural Policies.
ILKE Foundation had previously prepared reports on general education, higher education, economy, management, foreign policy and social policies within the scope of the Future Turkey project and has shared them with the public.
