After completing his studies at Zeytinburnu Imam Hatip High School, he earned his undergraduate degree at Beykent University. He then pursued both his master’s and Ph.D. in the Department of Economics and Econometrics at the University of Johannesburg.

Dr. Çakır began his academic career as a faculty member at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in 2014. His research focuses on Economics, Applied Macroeconomics, and the Turkish Economy. Since 2023, he has been continuing his academic work at Samsun University.
