International Student Mobility: Current Status and Recommendations
One of the most noticeable outcomes of the global information society is the increase in international student mobility. This worldwide surge is considered a significant component of the internationalization of higher education. Since 2010, Türkiye has also focused on internationalization strategies, resulting in a rapid rise in the number of international students. This trend has compelled public institutions, universities, and NGOs to develop policies and implement new practices related to the internationalization of higher education.
This policy brief analyzes global trends in international student mobility and their reflections in Türkiye. It examines the initiatives and activities undertaken by Türkiye through relevant public institutions and NGOs. The analysis includes statistical data and notable institutional practices. The brief concludes with several recommendations deemed functional for Türkiye's international student policy.
