Intellectual Streams in the Muslim World 16 (April 2022)
The bulletin has been prepared by closely following, researching, and scanning the publications and activities of over 250 civil society organizations, think tanks, and research organizations from 43 countries with considerable Muslim populations. Hence, we are preserving the intellectual capital of the Muslim societies and creating its large database by recording and saving it.
In this bulletin, the analysis titled "Social and Political Studies of NGOs and Islamic Movements in Southeast Asia" explains the practices of Malaysian and Indonesian society, based on both their historical contexts and the works they produced. “ASEAN's role in the Rohingya Crisis” analyses how the "principle of non-interference to internal affairs" poses a challenge in resolving the crisis. In addition, Islamophobia is generally associated with West but there is new type of Islamophobic policy and attitude in India. The analyses called “Rising Islamophobia in India” tries to reveal how Hindutwa ideology become dominant and effect Muslims across India. Finally, there is a text about Rashid Ghannouchi, one of the leading intellectual and political figures of both the Tunisian society and the Muslim World.
The bulletin also presents an inventory of the activities and events that took place during April around the Muslim world. We hope that, with its renewed concept, the bulletin will be beneficial for the readers.
