2023 Legal Monitoring Report
The field of law is of perennial concern to all countries, affecting all segments of society and permeating every aspect of life. The developments, innovations, discussions, institutional arrangements and other issues pertaining to the field of law reflect a multitude of fundamental social, economic, political and cultural issues. Conversely, the field of law should not be viewed exclusively as a technical, formal, or theoretical subject, nor should it be defined by limiting its scope to the judicial process. In light of the aforementioned considerations, this report has been prepared with an interdisciplinary approach, addressing the field of law from a holistic perspective.
The objective of the Law Monitoring Report 2023 is to provide an overview of the legal field in light of national and international data, thereby making a significant contribution to the historical record of the legal agenda in Turkey. The report presents the findings and recommendations of Turkey's esteemed legal professionals on the salient issues that have emerged in the field of law over the past year. With chapters dedicated to the supreme judiciary, human rights, civil jurisdiction, criminal jurisdiction, administrative jurisdiction, regulatory and supervisory bodies, alternative remedies, and legal education, the report provides a comprehensive overview of the legal system and offers constructive suggestions for the ongoing debates.
